a man and his Calvins

An ongoing work, spanning image, painting, sculpture and performance. 

Inspired by Chella Man who was recently inaugurated into the canon that is Calvin Klein's #mycalvins campaign. This campaign is overcrowded with straight white cis masculine non-disabled bodies. However, Man represents those often invisible within this campaign, and many like it: they identify as a trans, genderqueer, Deaf, asian American. 

A step in the right direction, but is it enough, how far should it go and how much of advertising is about selling the dream of non-discrimination and power.
